I got this from SFGate.com

So just what exactly is a "cliff climber"? I assume they are talking about a rock climber, but the article does not mention anything specific about the case except that he fell about 30 feet.

Rant: Climbers, more then most other athletes, are interested in accidents, how they happened and how they can be avoided. I know climbing accidents are not a high priority for the normal media, but can't they at least give us some idea of what caused the accident? I mean was it some non-climber who got into a situation they couldn't handle, or an expirienced climber who messed up?

Hmm, while I don't know about the accident in question, I've been to Portugese beach several times, and don't remember any of what you or I would consider good climbing. Just a 30-50' sea cliff, mixed rock, dirt and iceplant, that you could 4th class in several spots...
