This weather BITES! I know we need the rain and all, but seriously... Has anyone found a dry-ish area to climb this weekend? We blew off our plan to head to the South Platte this weekend due to my sincere dislike of climbing in downpours.

I'm afraid the only dry rock I found was at the Boulder Rock club. Bottom of the barrel climbing at best. :D

Did anyone watch the segment on the news last night about the huge boulder that fell on some guys car in CCC? Completely flattened the car. CDOT had to blast the thing apart because it was too heavy to move. Nobody was in it when the rock fell, but it was at the High Wire parking lot on the eastbound side of the road, which I know we've all parked at many times...The only question I have is where was there dry rock yesterday in Clear Creek near the Highwire?

I usually park on the right side pullout near the guard rail and cross the highway. Sounds like I'll continue doing that indefinitely. :D

I guess the only safe thing to do is have someone else drive...

Well Ten Sleep was the Shinto yet again. Less than 20 people at the campsite over the fourth. I am not sure we had more than 10 after the fourth. Charlie has already put up several new high quality routes. One of them was an 18 bolt 5.10 going through a series of bulges. You just barely touch ground on a 60 meter rope. Checked out the new stuff at Leigh Creek and the Circus wall. In fact splat bolted his first route there. A nice quality 5.10 on great stone. Lean left, lean right, giddyup! Got lucky and missed all the rain down here too. :righton: I'll try to get some pics up later this afternoon.

In reply to: Are there any plans to climb this weekend around Boulder? My summer is only just beginning so I'm still weak as a kitten and can't take my ale, but I promise not to whine too much. Oh, and for anyone who's interested in progress up in TenSleep - Gary/Cody are still obnoxious, Steve is still the filthiest man in N. America, Charlie still has the World's most frightening laugh and Dina just seems to put up with it all. The flies were a real pain as well, Trust me, I was beginning to lose patience toward the end..... :? And MAN, I can't stop scratching those wretched fly bites! Takes a day or two to turn up, but it really is maddening.

In reply to: Is anybody planning on climbing around Boulder tonight? Happy hour cragging, I believe is this season's 'buzz' word? The answer is yes. Cindylou (AKA nicerack) and I will be meeting at 5pm in the Dome parking lot (south side). Come one, come all. Riviera is the place to clip the bolts tonight.

In reply to: Did we have a buzz word last year? We had no need of a buzzword last year. It was just accepted that on a Tuesday/Thursday one went climbing and drank beer.

Basically, for the last year or so I've just been doing it for the chicks.

On a more practical note, is anyone who is going to tonights 'affair' passing by S. Boulder/Table Mesa? I've yet to score personal transport, and I have no idea where 'The Dome' is anyway.

It was a unique but much sought after waist high descent technique.

Hey everyone, I recently came upon some guidebooks for the area when a friend of mine left town. I've got a Boulder Canyon, Eldo, Flatirons, RMNP, and CCC. Will sell for 1/2 price.
