Hi all,

I met Cindy at RocknJamn South a couple of weeks ago and she suggested I check this out. Swore there were some good folks on this thread, and wished me luck finding them. Anyway, I'm heading for Indian Creek Thursday night for an extended weekend, and am wondering whether any of you might be out there. I'm solo on Friday and Saturday and would love to find some partners! I have gear and will lead or follow.

Terry

Hey Terry! Belayed any strange women lately? Uh, oh, right, that would be me. :?

Try Ian (ihuang) or Rich (breaksnclimbs) for IC. Good luck.

Let me know if you need an in-town belay.

Yesterday In Eldo I got a serious reality check on my current abilities as a climber.

after yesterday I’ve realized that there is no way I can lead .11, or even hard 10 in Eldo. I can climb on Tuesdays, Fridays, and weekends.

What spanked you Buster??

Eldo is a tricky place full of smalll gear placements, tricky cruxes, crimpy, edgy climbing above ok gear and, dissapearing cracks that re-appear only to dissapear again!!!

I LOVE IT!!!

That being said Buster, let's get out sometime!!
Got a whoooole list of things to onsight or get spanked on!!

Glad to hear everyone is doing well!!

Good stuff Jeremy!!

I haven't climbed in weeks...or done anything.

After a stellar summer my wrist is screwed.... might need cortizone injections this week...maybe surgery in the future.
It's pissing me off.

Anyway good to hear people are cranking!

A bunch of us have some injuries and are at half power, Josh. My friend Liz developed tennis elbow. I have some sort of shoulder injury and have no idea how it happened or when. Just trying to keep it happy. Get your wrist rested up and maybe get that shot of cortisone and see how it goes. I have a funky wrist, too. But I listen to it when it talks.

Le Toit, and the link up pitch to Rosy. I hung the first pitch, and was scared on the roof pitch, because a fall would of left me hanging in space. Then we did the NW corner of the Bastille. I had to French free the whole last half of the crux pitch, including the traverse to the belay to avoid swinging into a corner and having to prussic. I didn’t lead a single pitch all day, but I was still scared and having trouble committing, especially to traverses.

Awww, Dave, you know I love you to pieces. And I also know you are unfortunately scheduled to be out of town until 10-10, right? That means you won't be here for his trip to IC this weekend. But, when I met Terry, I told him about the trip planned to IC mid October and specifically told him to make sure he climbed with you cuz you're the best.

Now, put away the tissue, train your clients and get your ass back to Colorado where it belongs. The power of climb commands you! (said in my best 'Exorcist' voice while flinging Gatorade from a Nalgene bottle).

Then I'll be at "The Spot" to finish off the workout. I have a partner for Eldo today but, you want to meet up @ The Spot around 8??

We've known each other longer than most people stay married...

Stay strong Josh, My not climbing against my wishes when I was hurt recently seems to have been a good thing. It sucked, but I feel stronger for it.

The TWEAKER is TWEAKED???

Me too Joshy. I've been getting cortizone injections in my back along with physical therapy. Those suckers hurt.

Hope you feel better. You can always do some mountaineering with me when I go up if you're totally bored and not playing with the hose.

Maybe I have gotten weak from the lack of actual climbing (i.e. not sport wanking or bouldering), but NW corner felt harder than the Edge. The sequence through the crux is not obvious, unless you can brute force through pulling up on a fingerlock mono with no feet. Or maybe my body was just punishing me for putting it through stupid cardio linkups the day before. The pitons at the crux are solid, as I had no reservation in testing them multiple times.

Buster, you are exceedingly strong. Rock Warrior's Way might help with the mind game.

Next on the hit list: Grand Giraffe, T2, Le Boomerang, C'est la Vie, Jules Verne (anyone??)

I've gotten Ces't la clean acouple of times. It's a short crux but INSECURE.
and the grand girraffe is awesome!! the upper pitches are easy but fun. You can do the whole upper wall in 1 long pitch!!

I'd get on Le boomerang with you but we'd have to take turns leading it. . .

From what I understand Northwest corner is somewhat like Vertigo in that MOST people DON'T onsight it. .. It's just one of those Eldo 11s.
I'd also hit up T2 with you but you'd be stuck leading Jules. . . Don't think I'm quite ready for that one yet. I'd follow/catch though

This weekend won't work anyways- I'll be in the creek again.

P.S. yeah Buster you're definitely wicked strong. . . I saw you at the Creek
Ian's right The Rock Warriors Way by Arno Ilgner will help with mind.

Hey Micah,

I sent you an e-mail as well...but I just wanted to make sure you read this...I won't be able to join you at The Spot tonight, as I'd originally planned. Too much unpacking and organizing to do before the fam joins me this weekend.

I also wanted to say thanks to all of you (Tim, Cindy, Micah) who partnered up with me this weekend out in Boulder Canyon. What a wonderful first couple of days here!! It's so exciting for me to think that I don't ever have to leave this place anymore...I'm here for good! :D

...looking forward to meeting the rest of you all...

Cheers,
Alye
