So I was thinking of renaming the thread.

Puulease. Tell a story that's believable. Like how you were supposed to go out today and get your oil changed and pick up groceries. Yet you were back home within half an hour, nothing accomplished!

It's not my fault that the bank machine wouldn't give me any money. :(

Hey, the bank machine was more than willing to give you money!

Oh wait....you mean an actual machine and not your wife. My bad!

probably that you get to air it on a public forum. It's kind of a commandment then - set in stone in this chosspile.

That's kinda like me trying to shame Brent into climbing with this thread. It doesn't really work though. So it is a good way to pass the time.

Hopefully it did go good.

Was it engineering or that bastard coarse, geology?

I'd agree that geology is generally more interesting than engineering, but engineering was what brent was doing. Now he's picked up geology making it the bastard course.

And we like the darkside (not the user, the climbing).

Well okay, Grant we kinda like you to.

Empirical study is the best kind of lerning. And the lerning is what it is all about. If only we all had more time to lern about these rocks.

some of the stuff we're learning is really neat.

For ie. the rocks around the niagara region were formed when this part of the earth was still at around the equator (when the supercontinent was still around). A large collision of techtonic plates that formed the appalachians, which were at the time the "techonic mountains" and the subsequent erosion of these mountains gave the sediment that produces the limestone, dolostone and sandstone found here. The sediment was washed into a shallow ocean where these rocks formed and lithified.

kinda cool stuff.

seems like i retain this info a lot better than, say, take the third integral of x^3y^7secx^3 .

damn calculus......

Now why aren't we going to be "studying" at Nemo, Rattle Snake, ect. all weekend long? :?

Yeah, but it sure pays well.

So does being a Geologist. 8^)

The draw back is that no matter which side your on you still have to pay back the student loan, the line of credits, the Bank of Mom, the loan sharks, the credit card companies, the thugs hired by the loan sharks, and your local gear shop manager for spotting you gear when you didn't have any pasos. :P

But after that your still looking good $wise as a geologist, your not far behind as an Engineer.

What they don't tell you when you start is that after the years of exams you have to work then take more dumb exams covering stuff you'll never need to get your PEng or PGeo before you really get the $
