Ok, give me a break here. If you were as strong or good as dave graham, you could do his technical moves too. But you still can't. So I fail to see how being strong makes it any less impressive. It's just a different way of getting to the end of the route.

While true that Sharma tends to go for the routes with big moves (that is, afterall, the type of climbing that his strengths favor), that doesn't mean his routes aren't incredibly difficult. Don't think Witness the Fitness is that tough? Well, hopefully someday some people can get at it to find out, but don't think that campusing off of those tiny holds is routine for pros. He says it is really tough, and he should know.

But let's not turn this into an argument.

Speaking of Sharma, has anyone mentioned his knew route in Mallorca? Es Pontas is the name, and he says it was as tough for him as Realization, perhaps harder (it did take him 3 years of visits). And everyone should head over to bigupproductions.com to watch the 7 foot dyno. Because it's incredible.

Don't get me wrong, Sharma definitely is a name that deserves to be in this topic, but as several other people have mentioned I don't believe Witness to be his most impressive or the definitive "Sharma problem". Just because it was in a climbing video doesn't mean it's necessarily the hardest thing he's ever done, I'm just saying I think there's some better choices, albeit less well-known.

As far as cracks go I think The Boogieman at the City of Rocks in Idaho should be nominated. I've only heard of Tony Yaniro being the only one to have done it. But I could be wrong.

Speaking of Fred Roughling, he climbs his Mandallaz Drive in the movie First Ascent, and I must say, that is a very hard looking climb, I don't know whether its 15a but definitely an accomplishment

hmmm... and here's me thinking that I could only downgrade a route after touching the bolts. Wink

Mushuga is undoubtedly a very, very hard route, and totally insane!
Who knows what was going through Seb's mind when he did that one.
"where's thaty metolious mat?" perhaps?

Unfortunitly, It gets a solid E10, and although it's probobly more dangerous than rhapsody (gound fall from the entire hard section[~20m] of the route) it's not technically hard enough to warrent E11, and is therefor not classes as "as hard as" rhapsody.
please note I'm not slagging meshuga, in fact my copy of "Hard Grit" skips at that point because I have watched t so many times.
Restecp to Seb Grieve on that one!
