So, I know this is a bouldering forum, and I boulder more tha top rope, so here's my finger injury, although it doesn't really hurt all the time... I believe I'm crimping wrong, or maybe too much. After my first digits, the ones with the fingernails, at the connection to the second digit or whatever they're called are kind of swollen and red/purplish. I think there's some blood under them? or maybe they're bruised. They don't really hurt, can this be dangerous?

What do you mean by digits? Are you talking about the two joints in the finger? All i know is that one time i jammed my middle finger while climbing and i never stopped to let it rest, and now i can no longer bend it all the way down. Its screwed pretty much. So i say give it ice and rest, but idk im no doctor. Also there is a section in the forums called injuries and accendents or something. Just letting you know.

Sounds like a slight fracture to me. I had a very similiar experience over the summer on my left ring finger. It didn't really hurt at all, but when crimping, or if I touched it just right it freakin killed. I thought it might have been a tendon, but it didn't really hurt to move or even put a bit of pressure on the Dr. told me to buddy tape it to the middle finger, and lay off climbing for 2-3 weeks.

I'd get this checked out, man. You don't want to let it slide and regret it later.
