We are joking about the keg. I mentioned that I have all the brewing equipment, but I haven't done it in a while. So, I don't currently have any beer to bring. My plan right now is to meet at the mill at 11 AM on Saturday. Sunday I don't think I have any partners. Maybe I could tag along with you?

At this point a bunch, six or so, we will be meeting at 11 in lisbon, sat. I don't know for sure about sun. If I climb hard at lisbon, I may just take the bike and crashpad to the mill on sun. I can check here sat nite.

I decided I won't climb on Sunday. Hope you have a good day at Lisbon. We have a group of 5 going to the mill. We will even get a slackline set up.

glad to hear you got out and did some climbing, bill. anybody else enjoy the weather this weekend?! we had two great days at the New... we finally figured out how to get up New Yosemite (hand jamming? what's that?!), and, for the first time, did some routes in the Bridge area. goofed around on a horrific off-width inappropriately named "butterbeans" (should have been called "offwidth death trap fear fest!"). it was slightly overhanging, sharp rock (looked like the crack was part of an iron seam), requiring good lie-backing skills (which we don't have, of course)... kind of looking forward to going back and trying it again! i was a little surprised by how empty the place was... only ran into a handful of climbers.

Victor, it sounds like you had a good weekend. Bill, I am pretty surprised that it was so crowded out there, but I am glad you seemed to have a good group of friends to hang out with. I got out climbing on Saturday only. I am glad I made it out that day. Sunday seemed to have much better weather though. I had another less then perfect day at the mill. Friction was the best I have ever seen at the Mill. (This doesn't say much though.) I got to fool around on 6 climbs total which is good. The sun never reached us, and the stream seemed to maintain a slow constant wind. It felt like 35 degrees the whole day. At least I made it out. I probably won't be able to climb again until after my honeymoon. I should be back in pittsburgh Jan 15th. I hope everyone else has a good time though.

I forgot it was her first time there. She did a fine job on some of the heighth dependent climbs. We can't ask for nicer temps this time ofthe year.

Hey I live about 45 min from McConnells Mills. I am a fairly new climber and am looking for some people to hook up with to climb sometime and possibly show me to ropes (no pun intended). I have shoes, chalk bag, harness, and helmet.

Which direction and how cold are you willing to go out in? I usually boulder through the winter there. If it is about twenty to thirty degrees I usually make it once during a wknd. If it is sunny and thirty I go to lisbon.

Hey GJ, You picked a bad season to start meeting up with people. :) Winter will cut down the climbing days a lot. Most of us post up here when we are heading out somewhere. You can probably just follow this board and get in contact when an outing fits your schedule. Most of us are friendly. Dan

It's supposed to rain until ~6am Saturday morning, but be warm and sunny (58° by noon). Anyone think the rocks will be dry on a wall with good sun exposure? Just curious because i'd like to get out to somewhere around Connellsville.

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum... But not to Rockclimbing.com... I never realized there was a W.PA. thread... doh!... I'm from around Uniontown and have been climbing in the area for years... well not the past couple, my main climbing partner, my wife, got pregnant and then with the baby just born I havent had time to climb much at all for like 18 months... anyway, we are looking to get back into the groove and with the problems at Krahlick (shame), we are really interested in trying out the Yough River gorge...I've read so much about it, and am excited to try some of the routes... I wish I would have known about it sooner, I could have helped out with some of the cleanup... problem is I'm fairly familiar with the area, but cant find the rocks... could someone give me directions.... I'd really appreciate it.... thanks

tanderson has a couple of locations in Ohiopyle listed on his page: http://www.climbpa.telerama.com/ Unfortunately it's outdated by a few years and the Ohiopyle ones do not have any information other than the name itself. However, Tim is very friendly and has answered my questions on a couple of occasions so he might be a good source to ask.
