Looking for a climbing partner who is also just learning or an experienced climber that doesn't mind teaching. I am 36 and wish I had started at 16

Show up at VE in St Paul most any night. You'll get to know the regulars if you aren't terribly shy

I too am a bit of a new climber. Started back in March. I usually climb at East High School in Mankato at the rock wall there about 2-4 times a week (I work for the school district). I try to make it up to Vertical Endeavors roughly once a week, usually on the weekends. Feel free to PM me and I'd be happy to climb/belay you sometime up at VE! I don't know the "usual crowd" there, since I live 1.5 hours away; but we can work something out I'm sure!

Dang that's pretty much a whole day affair to drive the 1.5 hours to climb. I have started climbing the REI wall in Bloomington since it is free for REI members and has many routes to work on.

I forget the name of the route exactly, but there's a good route at REI in between the two columns called Twin Towers or Two Towers (again... forgive my lack of recollection). I think its rated at 5.10 or 5.11 and you basically smear and stem your way up between the towers. Great climb, and a lot of fun! Just trust your shoes!!!

I am still working on the 5.7+ on the back side of the 50 footer without feeling so fatigued. I have climbed it twice now but I want to be able to do it without feeling so much pain in my arms. That all comes with conditioning and practicing my form. I really enjoy climbing at REI
