Rescue crews lift climber from Sullivan Canyon

PRESCOTT Emergency crews from Chino Valley, Prescott and Phoenix helped rescue 18-year-old Keo Boulon Sunday after he fell when climbing with gear and ropes in Sullivan Canyon south of Paulden. Boulon is a Prescott College student from

Connecticut.

Chino Valley Fire District Battalion Chief Jack Miller said the young man was climbing with friends at about 2:30 p.m. when he slipped and fell 40 to 50 feet in the canyon.

According to a climbing partner, Boulon fell when two pieces of equipment pulled loose from the rock face.

Miller said Boulon suffered back and head injuries, but remained alert and conscience throughout the

rescue.
