Hey climbers, I have some family coming to germany to do some climbing with me in Frankenjura this April. Can anyone tell me if the crags are pretty easy to get to? Not the touristy ones, but the ones you only hear about. I was told by a fellow climber to rent a guide for the day and that would solve the problem. any help would be cool.

Damn, you don't need a guide! get a topoguyide-book and strawl to the rock! Or hike around, or get to 'oma Eichler' and hook up with some other climbers! Or get to the campsite on pottenstein (Bärenschlucht) and you can climb famous routes, at the campsite, left of it, right of it, opposite the street...

there is so much to do there.

Check the route db at Frankenjura.com.You can search the whole area by almost every criteria. The Frankenjura is famous for easy approaches (there're routes you can belay off the car, not that I'd recommend, but...).

Have fun!
