I'm taking a few months off work to chill out and climb before grad school. I just don't think it's healthy for human beings to be inside all day. Ever seen that movie Office Space?

Anyway, if any fellow Utahans need a climbing partner this spring or summer please send me a message (boulder, sport, or trad). You can't have too many climbing partners you know! I really want to have a fun break and meet new people and climb lots of new routes before returning to academic slavery.

I live within an hour's drive of AF, Rock Canyon, Big Cottonwood, and Little Cottonwood. I'm also planning on making trips to COR, Maple, Joes, and the Moab area.

I'd like to get out to the moab area sometime within the next couple months. I don't know when exactly, it depends on when I can get a partner and gas money around. I'm up for climbing anything. I lead 5.12 sport and I'm just starting trad. Let me know any exact dates so I can see about scheduling some vacation time.

I'll be in SLC mid-May through early August.

Let me know if anyone's interested in a regular climbing partner during the week/weekends. I also posted a separate thread just now to maximize reaching out.

Be in touch again closer to mid-May; working on exams and a trip!

I'm going to be in moab visiting family may 9th through 13th. I would not be able to dedicate the entire duration of my trip to climbing because that is not why I am there (unfortunately), so it may not be worth the trip for you if you depend on me as your primary partner, but if you will be in the moab area, i'd love to hit up castelton tower, wall street, maybe indian creek, or whatever you feel like. I place good gear and make bomber anchors and know how to belay damn well, so that should not be a concern. I just have lead up to 5.10c trad, however I enjoy climbing at all levels and types (trad, bouldering, and sport. not aid experience). I'm a 20yr old male sophmore in college. Any questions, email me at bdowney1987@yahoo.com.
Hope this works out - it would suck to go to moab and not get any climbing in!
Cheers,
braden downey

I'll be looking for climbing partners from around 5/14 to 5/24 in the Salt Lake City and Provo area. I'm rehabbing a strained flexor pulley, so I'll start taking it easy, but I lead 5.9 trad, boulder ~V4, and hope to lead sport in hard 5.10-5.11 (though I haven't done any sport leading for a while, so I'll have to see) as my finger works back into shape.

Also, does anyone know cheap (preferably free) places to camp in the SLC or especially Provo areas? I have a friend in SLC willing to give me a place to crash, but I don't want to take too much advantage, and I don't know where to crash if I'm going down to American Fork Canyon. Thanks a lot! (Yes, I've searched and I know there's not a lot of camping around SLC, but I thought someone might have new thoughts.)

Cheers,
James

I've camped for free up American Fork canyon before. Sure, I had to drive around for quite a while until I found some pull-off on the side of the road, smashed between the road and the river, that was barely enough room to throw down a tent.

But, hey, it's free.

I'll be in the SLC area this weekend (5/24-5/27) and my partner backed out at the last minute.
Let me know if you're up for some climbing on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Hi,
I am looking for a partner to boulder, but I would enjoy to sport or trad however I don't have any gear with me, only my crash pad.
About myself, i am french and my climbing is a bite rusty (should be fine after a couple of days). I free 24 hours a day-all days.
Let me know if you are ok.
Ta Jerome.

I'll be visiting Moab for the first time around June 8-14. Probably camping in Canyonlands most of the time. If anyone wants to show me around the area I'd appreciate it. I can lead mid 10s sport, follow trad 9/10a. I'll bring my harness, rope and draws. Also a car so driving to Indian Creek or Arches NP isn't a problem. Anything else in the area?
