This post is almost 6 years old... I opened this quick, hoping that B&B had returned, only to see that someone just dredged up a very old post.

If you truly love beer, this is an impossible question to answer. It depends on the day, the time of day, the time of year, the event/ocassion, the meal in front of you, who you're drinking with, how many you've already had, what kind of a day you're having, what the temperature outside is, how ugly you're date is, etc. That said, I've never met a pale ale I didn't like and I've never been let down by anything Anchor Steam has made. Their is a local brewery here in Nashville called Yazoo that makes nothing but great beer. My favorite new find is from the guys at Terrapin Brewery in Athens, GA, particularly their Rye Pale Ale.

If your lookin' for top notch brew try Dogfish Head Brewery. The "60 Minute IPA" is probably one of the best beers I've had since they stopped distributing Guiness Gold in the states. Link Stout lovers should to try the Chicory Stout as well.

I agree with wjca that it is hard to pick a favorite. I guess I will have to put in another vote for Anchor Steam since it is the only one in my head right this instant.

Bridgport in Oregon is another brewery that makes an excellent pale ale.

I love the 90... but at $10.00 a four-pack, I rarely recommend it. My friends are cheap. I also think its a little too much to be an all-around favorite. By the end of the third one I'm speakin' in tongues and fallin' off the bar stool. Hardly the help I need when entertaining guests.

I gave up on all that microbrew Boomer consumerism con-a-sewer bullshit, a dress on a pig mostly. (no offense to you plumbers) Corona, in an iced mug with salt on the rim and a fat fresh lime squeezed and floating. Gracias muchachos! A shot of the distilled necter of the blessed agave goes well with it too. DMT

I agree with you on the tequilla, but I'm gonna have to disagree with you big time on the Corona, if you want a good light Mexican beer, go with Modelo Especial, but my favorite is Negra Modelo, no limes needed for either of those.

New Belgium Trippel. Fat tire is good, Sunshine Wheat is better, and Trippel is best. Psyched that I will be out west next month, so as to be able to stock up!

If de lime don't taste good in da beer, hop away! Pacifico's good too. They're all owned by the same family anyway. DMT

negro modelo is not bad, I prefer it to corona. For a cheapy mexican beer tho- tecate isn't awful. I'm not a big fan of dogfish head but havent had it in awhile so may need to get back on that boat. my fav easy to get beer: Circus Boy (magic hat hefeweisen) fav heavy- rogue dead guy ale, Legend Brown Ale (richmond, VA) general highrolling goodness- rogue amercian amber flying dog is also awesome, their porter I think is the one i remember enjoying best from the variety pack.
