I just try to look at as many of the available resources online for workout ideas and pick and choose ones that will help to keep things interesting. PM me for more specifics if you want.

I coach middle and high school teams. To keep them focused I rely on benchmarks and goals while trying to avoid the problem of setting the bar to high. For example, I tell them that they know they have put in a very good workout if they have done eight climbs within our two hour practice. Recognizing distractions and redirecting attention is a focus in my coaching. You'll see people do a lot of different things to "get out of" actual climbing (subconsiously) i.e. route building, hot dog dyno play and other interesting things. As a coach, what are your goals? Who will you be coaching? How many will you coaching at a time?
