So its finally gotten warm enough to head up to Vedauwoo on a regular basis so, in that sense anyway, the season has begun. As such, my goal, over and above other projects, is to lead 1000 pitches before the first snow of fall, that is the first snow after September 1st. I'm starting this thread to keep track of that goal and also so other people can post up similar goals and keep track of it as well. Kind of like Angry's work out thread, but a little bit more forgiving. Anyone got something to add?

18 pitches as of 05/01 Considering the number of days I manage to get outside, I'm going to have to average about 23 pitches per day. That's a little tough. I'll have to start free-soloing a lot.

52 pitches as of 05/01. seeing as I would need 56 pitches a week for the rest of the summer, it isn't likely I will break 1000, maybe 400?

Why don't you post all your ascents in rc.com so we can follow your progress on your climbing log! DDT

That's 8ish pitches a day. Totally doable, but you better start logging the miles and not skip a beat. Or you could move to Cali and do like 3 pitches a day.....so spoiled here. Good luck...

Where do you climb in the summer in Vegas, or do you. Is Red Rocks climbable in the summer months. Just asking, I've yet to go there, can't think for the life of me why the hell I havn't been there yet.

I'm about 100 pitches for the year, probably a few more... i don't think I could sustain 1000 though, not without either falling apart, or freesoloing lots of 5.5.

2 pitches at Vedauwoo= 1/2 pitch anywhere else. Trad climbs the length of boulder problems=b(ouldering)(tr)ad climbing or trouldering. At least the climbs at Vedauwoo make up for their small stature by being tearse, painful and burly.

I shoot for 1000 pitches/year usually make it, but not always. I count everything, keeps me going. 1000 in a season would take dedication.

WAIT!! Now that I think of it it's 4 pitches of trad and probably in the range of 100 pitches of sport!! Gotta love New Mexico weather! I'd just like to note that before I previewed my post I had written 4 PITCHERS of trad. Hmmm margaritas anyone?

I have 82 trad leads and solos I think. Pretty close anyway. 6 sport routes too. 1000 seems a bit much for me but I can see how it is possible. I'll miss a month due to some mountains in peru, I'm shedding no tears over that though.
