You live in a place where people don't know what a rock is, and your idea of 'rock climbing' is stepping off the cushioned floor onto the green tape route. Now go row row row your boat. Unfortunately, I have encountered this attitude more often than I would like with some of you more experienced rock climbers. When I am out team building with my management group, yes I said 'team,' we are there to be together, to experience the tranquility of the outdoors, the feel of the rock and the excitement of the climbs. Together. I truly feel sorry for you that you cannot feel this. My group and I always are respectful and courteous, and we often get the same treatment in return. But not always, and mores the pity. Life is a team sport, whether you like it or not.

Sounds real cool. wow... you nailed it, floridians don't know what rocks are... good one... actually, ya got me there, wtf is a rock? and I also only think that rock climbing is indoors with resin holds, whats all these people hanging from cliffs and stuff? are they stupid? and I will have fun on my green route, which is a 5.9, while you climb (or don't because of the groups) your "rock" (<- whatever that is) o yea, and I quit crew two and a half years ago, but its the hardest sport I've ever done my entire life... climbing comes close second... P.S.- I fucking hate you because I wish I could climb real rock and wouldn't be bitching about people climbing next to me if I had the opportunity, I'd be climbing and having fun, not being a tard and complaining about newbs when I myself am a newb... P.P.S. - How fucking old are you? like, 15? cause u argue like a high school drama queen...

Is it just me or does Crab not realize that no one is on his side? Except for Leech but from what I can tell that doesn't say much. I mean lets face it here, if everyone is against you, it's probably because you: 1. have nothing intelligent to say; 2. you're a moron; 3. bitter because you climb in an area with "real rock" and still no one wants to climb with you; or the obvious 4. All of the above.

The difference being, we're not so naive as to think that will happen, and we're not going to waste the energy to get worked up as he (apparently, but not really - it's a troll) is.

These group trips where you all laugh and have fun, they are not about climbing. They are about your stupid group, with a little climbing sideshow. The rest of us aren't interested in your toprope wanking, or the Bold Leader of your group who strings up topropes on those .10c's much to the joy and admiration of the rest of you. Stop doing multipitches with more than two people. A party of three is lame enough, and a party with more that three... well, I don't even know what to say about that it is so stupid. The only groups that roll so deep are nothing but the rankest beginners, who just seem to feed off each other's enthusiasm and ignorance. Look around next time. You won't see anyone who knows what they were doing in a big group. Climbing is not a social sport. There should be two of you, and half the time you are separated by half a rope, and one of you is focused on climbing, the other on belaying. I only bring this up because of a thread I read this morning about a pack of n00bs taking over all the climbs on a cliff. That is inexcusable. Fortunately it only happens at shitty crags. If you want to have your group parties, either go to the gym or go to the beach and play volleyball. Your large climbing group is offensive to everyone else at the crag. Climbing is not a team sport. Quit your bitching.

Okay calm down, calm down, your favorite climb is a little further around that bend. nOOb! Motherfucker rapelled in off that 5.6 so he could impress his friends all...day...long. Fortunately it only happens at shitty crags . This hasn't happened to you, yet you bitch about it? If it doesn't affect you why do you care? You weren't there so how do you know that all the climbs were taken by noobs? There wasn't one that was a little more difficult that you could tackle? I am about to leave with a group of six to go climbing. Why because it is about 2.5 hour drive to a good place to climb. So when a trip is planned then everyone wants in on it. I will be thinking of you while I am climbing (WITH MY GROUP) this weekend! BTW if this happens to you be shitty with the group not all noobs!!

People, lets make one thing clear here: going further into the backcountry isn't the solution. This problem needs to be stemmed at it's root... running into the back country won't solve anything. Just think, today these groups are n00bs climbing 5.9s, in 10 years the could be big groups working their way up Lotus Flower Tower, or hanging top ropes in the Black Canyon. Yes, I realize that with todays technology, you can't set up a 2000' top rope... but please think of the children. The more of these groups develop, the further out into the back country we'll have to go. Today rope manufacturers make 70m ropes, so not even the 35 m climbs are safe... whats in the future, 100 m ropes, 200m ropes, 1000 m ropes. These top roping n00b groups will sweep in and take all of our ropes. But folks, there are solutions, we must be pro-active as a community to prevent this n00b-group problem from getting out of control. I have a number of suggestions, for example... if a n00b group is top roping the shit out of a crag, climb to the top and remove all of the ropes that aren't being used. Then you can get on those climbs. Bring peoples attention to thier rudeness. The groups are genuanly trying to piss you off, they just don't know any better... to awareness of whats going on around them. We have a problem brewing, that problem being groups of n00bs taking over our sport. We need to start cutting the problem at the root, rather than bitching about in online.... and thus the troll continues.
