Use regular canister at low elevation.
Use butane-propane (60-40) mix canister above 4000m
even with mix canister , efficiency of canister decrease with altitude. the canister may require to be kept warm to allow proper feeding

on a general rule, canister-based cooking is more expensive than liquid fuel based and is more suited to small groups. But is is more practical (priming a fuel stove under a snow storm in no fun)
