So I have my fingers built up to withstand a fair amount of non stop climbing, but being at my dorm, its sometimes impossible for me to climb for a week. Because of this, I'm looking for ways to keep the caluses on my fingers strong in between the climbing. Please let me know how anyone is doing this, it would be greatly appreciated!

I wouldnt worry about it too much. For one thing dont pick at the caluses too much, I know some people who have a habit of doing that. Honestly though I dont think its that big of a deal, especially only over a week without climbing. The only thing I can think of for in a dorm would be to use a hangboard, which as far as effect on skin would be fairly close to climbing. But im not sure what the rules are in dorms in relation to mounting things on walls. If you cant figure anything out though then I wouldnt worry about it too much, since caluses dont directly affect climbing performance.

Well, sometimes, it can get to be more than a week, and Ill notice a difference, so I didnt know if its possible to file your fingers to gain caluses or if you can rub them on something rough.... Im just trying to find something to keep them tough enough to not be in pain when I climb the first time again. Oh and a hang board wouldn't be possible here....

One thing that could work is get to your gym on campus (if you have one). Do some pull-ups on the metal bars in there. Those things will help keep most of your caluses built up. Pull ups on doorjams will help keep the finger-tip caluses going. (Stretch before those)

Ultimately, you are screwed, because you can't climb, but you can hang rock rungs off of anything. If there is will, there is a way.
