Doesn't mean that you can't get alcohol there, it's that you are supposed to not drink.

IMO doc may have earned the right to drink while he was over there. Shit sucked.

I just found out I'm getting a full weekend of local ice, bitchez!

I'm going out tomorrow morning. Hopefully stuff will be less drippy than it was yesterday.
I don't think our ice is drippy at all. I didn't get a close look yesterday. I think the water is getting locked up.

On the bright side, one of the formations that was only a big hanger last year is looking like it might make a nice pillar this year. I put pins into the drytool section but I never got to lead it last year. It seemed to sketchy to chance it.

Yes, the first to climb a flow or a section of a huge flow that forms distinctly different sections. Ice can be very different from day to day.

On pure ice routes the whole FA thing is a little silly. Especially on easy ice that could have been climbed years ago.

well, I was recently in vegas with a bunch of frat bros, and LV_Kel had to work, so I had to make use of that. Oh, and OKel, I think you can park a lot closer than it says in that guide, there were a bunch of people parked right by where the trail starts to the boulders even though there were no parking signs there.

Good to know. I'm hoping the girl I am going with (who has to work) is going to drop me off there. Otherwise I will have to find an alternate way

a cab would be awfully expensive.
I've seen people rent those little scooters in Vegas and drive them out to and around the loop.

That would take a long time.

I'm pretty sure if I get overtime overload I'll have to find a new job and get out of here.

My new schecdule was just emailed to me....looks like I'll be needing a calender! I'm so bad at keep track of meetings and such.

That is all.

Thats good news, you might not hate your job so much. I'm hoping the hours won't suck as I wouldn't want you to shoot yourself in the face

since I am drunk, I will answer a question I have no business responding to.

yes, they denote the route they went up. They denote the conditions usually, and then they rate it. Every year and time of the year will be different, but overall it will be predictable. So, early on in the season you could do the same route and find no ice. Very late in the season you can do the same route and find the ice had perfect development conditions the week before. Nornally, you can find the same route give or take a bit though.

A guide I was friends with told me a story about a guy that did a FA on Cannon. The FA went out solo onsight FA'ed a huge hard route. My friend was complaining in the story because he was at Cannon with a client, but couldn't do this route. He knew the conditions the prior month were similar. So, he could have repeated this route he looked up to in the same exact style and conditions.

When? If it was a while back it was probably Bouchard on the Black Dike. That was in the late 70s I think...maybe later.

He did solo the FA, though. Insane.
don't know, but if it helps the route was supposed to be SUPER thin the entire way up it.

Normally its the opposite with us. We open a bottle of wine for drinking, find that its a pretty bad bottle, drink what we can and then use the rest for cooking. We do not cook with nice wine.

I've thought about making wine at home, but our house is never kept warm enough, and we don't really drink enough to bother.

He made the wine in a store where you paid for the privilege of using their equipment to brew it.

I brewed my own beer for a while, but I stopped just because it takes too much time. Also, I moved out of the house we were renting into an apartment. I will start up again when I have a more relaxed schedule probably. With beer you need cool basement temps. Brewing wine is very similar equipment and process. I would have guessed your house temps are an advantage.

I want to brew wine at some point just to have done it. I think it makes like 34 bottles at a time though.

I grew up a collie, not a border collie, a rough collie I think. That was Captian. He was pretty big for a collie, and a great dog. I have a soft spot for collies.

Shelties are not collies, they're barely dogs. Our neighbour had two. One bit my father.
aren't shelties and toy collies the same thing?

They were fine for dogs. Extremely vocal but super smart like a lot of other collies.

I agree with the barely a dog thing. Lam and I have a 'puntablility scale' for small dogs. The smaller and more yippie the more you want to punt them. Big dogs don't get rated because they are too big to punt, but the little ones can be horrible.

What is so hard to understand about this whole topic?? I mean that HFCS is not as bad for you as sucrose. Isn't it made from corn???
edumacate me
HFCS is made from corn, but it is so refined it is the ultimate evil of sugar. It is very sweet and addictive. It makes it hard for your bidy to read the chemicals that tell you when you are full so you keep gorging. It is likely why so many people in the States are so ridiculously fat. It is in almost every thing over there.

Next time you are in the States bring back a can of your favorite soda, pop, or what ever you call it, and get a can of it from Canada. First compare the ingredients. Then do a taste test.

Remind me tonight and I can give you an article to read about it.
^^^obviously knows way more about it then me in my earlier post.
