I have traveled around México as a single female and never felt unsafe, yet I have never camped alone. I am looking at heading up North to Prefrero chico in March and am wondering if it is alright for a gal to camp alone and whether it is the raining season? Also when is the best time of year more or less to head up there. thanks

In reply to: I have traveled around México as a single female and never felt unsafe No one I know thinks of Potrero as being unsafe. If you are considering a climbing trip and will camp at the usual climbers campgrounds then no problem at all. If you are thinking of camping in the back country then wait for responses from people more local. Times to Visit/Weather - search other Potrero threads.

You will be perfectly safe camping alone here, especially if you're in one of the commercial campgrounds. We don't usually get rain until the end of April but it's best to be prepared for anything. Any time is the best time at El Potrero Chico!!
