I have not done a knee tendon, but have done fingers and elbows. the only guaranteed solution is rest... however, as that sux, and never happens, try gentle stretches, ice if it is recent, heat if it is old, and some vitamin I (ibuprofin) if you are in N america, or some equvalent anti inflamatory (eg voltarin) if you are elsewhere. the drugs will make it feel better, but this does not mean it is healed - you will still need to take it very easy for a while anyway. BUT, i am not a doctor, so do not rely on what i say - go see a doc or physio

Friendly advice from a former competitive athlete (former because of injuries): LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE. You may have a comp in 2 weeks, but do you want it to be your last one? I blew a shot at the Olympics (in fencing) because it was more important for me to go to that year's Nationals than it was to do something about my dislocated knee until after the tournament. I never competed again, and at 31 I'm ready for a knee replacement I'm not old enough to get. Don't do it to yourself, man. There will be other comps. Take the time to heal, and climb that much harder AFTER things are better. Wait until your doc/physiotherapist says you're ready to go back. Don't make the mistake I did. You'll regret it afterwards. I actually just blew my knee out last night going for an onsight of an 11a overhang that i had never led before- and i agree that it sucks, but i say take at least a week off... ice it, elevate it, stretch it, and try not to climb on it! you might have to ditch the comp, but no worries... there are always more- your knee and climbing future are much more important.
