Hey Guys,
My brother is putting on a trail building school through IMBA up at Monte Sano on Oct. 30 to Nov. 2. He said last time they did one a bunch of folks from the SCC came up. Anyway, here's the info:
The International Mountain Bicycling Association is coming to Alabama. Kelly and Collins Bishop of the Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew will be in Huntsville for a Trailbuilding School. The Crews teach “sustainable” trail building, which means building trails that last a long time and require minimal maintenance. This helps reduce trail damage, protects the environment, and enhances visitor enjoyment.
The Land Trust of Huntsville and North Alabama, along with SORBA-Huntsville, are hosting the Subaru/IMBA TCC visit. It has been four years since the last school in town, so now is your chance to brush up on your trailbuiding skills. We are planning for sixty-five people to learn IMBA's sustainable trail building principles. After a classroom session we'll apply the newly learned skills on the High and Bluffline trails.

Schedule:
Thursday
6:00 PM - 9:00 PM: Club Care workshop for SORBA Huntsville members at Monte Sano State Park Lodge. Snacks provided.
Saturday
8:00 - Noon: Trailbuilding School classroom session at Monte Sano Elementary School
Noon - 1:00 PM: Lunch provided by the Land Trust
1:00 - 5:00 PM: Trailbuilding School field session
Sunday
11:00 AM: SORBA guided rides at Monte Sano State Park Biker's Parking lot, followed by club barbecue (open to all riders). Please bring a side to share.
Noon: Land Trust guided hike at Land Trust Bankhead Parkway parking lot
