Hello all. I am a University of Colorado grad student and I am doing an internship at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. I'm helping out with a new exhibit called "Expedition Health" (http://www.expeditionhealth.org/). Included in the exhibit will be a computer interactive on height and arm span, part of which involves using rock climbers as examples. We are going to feature thumbnail photos of six (preferably local) climbers (climbing, not yearbook photos), along with their height and arm span measurements. If you are interested, please e-mail me your stats and a photograph (they need 320 x 320 pixels) at suzanne.white@colorado.edu. We'll pick the best six. Thanks! Suzanne

Huh, that's kinda interesting. I don't think you want me, though. My ape index is shameful. [idea]Hey, you looking for any negative examples?

Ape index! Is that a term you all really use? That's pretty funny. Maybe they'll want to incorporate it into the exhibit.... Not sure on the negative example thing, but will bring it up. Thanks for the reply. -S

I think there is a climbing museum outside of Denver if memory serves me right. They'd probably also be able to help.

I don't get how a 320 px image will help you much though...I mean...that's really small for a picture in an exhibit.

It's for a computer interactive, not a wall photo. That's why they only need that size. Sorry not to be clearer about that!

I'm just a lowly intern helping them with photo research. Not really involved in this one that much, but it should be a really cool exhibit.

J_ung is a hobbit of a man at 4'10" with a 4'4" stump span = -6 ape index although he is now grand overlord here, his ego is at least regular human sized. good luck with your project, oh, and start climbing...

Nooooo, thanks! I've lived my whole life in Florida and Washington, DC. I can't imagine climbing up anything without stairs. :) Thanks for the info on the ape index. The term does crack me up. Cheers, Suzanne
