It is snowing some here and sposed to turn to rain and then back to snow tonight. If you like I could see if we can send the snow to you folks in Ohio. That is where alot of the snow here comes from anyhow. I have no use for it.

All that's falling from the sky here is the end of the climbing season. But its still much too soon for ski or ice climbing season to begin. I hate this part of the year.

harden the fuck up!
You can also go climbing while there is snow.
More friction, less people, what do you want more?

Less frostbite in a hand crack? I'll put it to you straight, the climbing season at Vedauwoo ENDS with the first snow of the fall. After that, it hovers in the low 40s and high 30s, with ice steadily forming inside the cracks, but with 30 to 40 mph winds all day every day (with the once a month exception, which we all obsessively watch the weather for) until spring.

QQ moar.

Here in Minnesota, we climb all winter. and that high 30's - low 40's you're talking about is a fucking field day for us. try climbing in sub 0 temps with a windchill of -50. christ, at that point we might as well be ice climbing...but nooooo... we tough it out on the rocks. also, frostbite is for noobs.

Qwert is right. Man up and climb something.

so then harden up some more Mad

I see, the wind is really a problem, but if i translated the temps right, if you find a wall that faces away from the wind you still should be able to get some climbing done. Just get some old glove and cut of the finer tips.
But i dont know the situation at your crag.

Its all crack climbing. And since the wind comes out of the west, I can either choose to climb in the shade where the air temperature feels like its below freezing, or choose to climb early enough in the morning that the air temp is below freezing still.

I've tried, and like I said, I hate this season in southeast Wyoming.

Don't let Nathan know about that. I told him to wait till we got back from Kentucky to put on the snow tires. He's pretty excited to put them on.

I loooove climbing in SE Queensland in the winter. Nice cool weather, not too cold and never hot. It is dry and the friction is great. When summer comes around I just move to different crags and take advantage of the sea breezes that spring up in the arvo.

I'm off to Tasmania after Chrissy for almost a month, life will be good down there for climbing, it'll be like climbing here in winter.

I love climbing in Oz.

I've climbed in Vedauwoo every month of the year. To this day I'm still tired of Fridays.

How about bouldering?

Of course, a mere 2 hours south of you, I'm climbing so damn much that I'm constantly aching and exhausted. Once ice season gets kicking, I can finally get some rest (cause ice is easy).
