i dunno. if getting to the face and staring up at the rock and thinking, really thinking of the reality of what you're about to do doesn't straight-up pump you... i find, rather, that i enjoy calming music on the drive to the rock. cinematic orchestra--motion is a nice cd. bonobo--animal magic is nice as well. some plain pure picking is good too; tut taylor--friar tut is a fine example, as well as most anything by doc watson. that all said, i still don't understand those that bring music to the crag, whether it be a personal ipod or a boombox. maybe i'm just old.

My gym plays an ipod on shuffle and the other day they were playing a bunch of Primus and I really enjoyed that for climbing. It's not really heavy and it's fun to listen to. I feel it matches the sport.

oh and as for other sports when I played lacrosse I used to listen to Meshuggah before games. After I started this I started coming out leveling people left and right.
