I was curious if anyone knows anything about traversing across the north face of island block. Almost every time I go to the mills I start my day off with doing this traverse left to right. Is this bouldering route rated or named? has anyone else ever done it. I find it to be a fun little route and I suggest it to anyone I take climbing. I was surprised it wasn't mentioned in Bob value's book. Just wondering if anyone has any information.

When you get good you can start around the corner to the left (the creek side) come back to the north side continue to the west side down to the rigging route, go up and then down the rigging route and come back the west side staying lower than you did the first time. I can not do that. I can not do the whole north side. I do do part of the north side as well as part of the west. I sometimes start at the big hole on the west and go to the rigging route. I will not go around the corner to the rigging route til it's dry and I have cleaned some of the holds. Try the little boulder downhill from the north side going right to left with no hands. Fun.

You definitely have the sweet life Bill. While you're pulling hard at the mill I will be looking out the office window, through the smog, to the distant hills... I think if I don't get out and climb this weekend I will go nuts.
