Just a few comments here.
There are no schools for parenting. If there were different ppl would learn or take different things from it.
There is a difference in encouragement and pushing.
I never pushed my children into a sport or class but if they chose it, I would help and sometimes encourage and sometimes push.
Children like adults can not be stereotyped or put in box with expectations and set in stone outcomes, etc. What I mean there is that children and adults are not all the same and do not react the same.
If you want an example of too much pushing, go watch a little league game with an asshole for a coach or parent.

No kidding ... I was at a basketball game for my 5th grader niece. The other team's coach resembled Bobby Knight (back in the day).

Ridiculous.

" Now Kids, I just want you to go out there and have fun. Remember though, if you lose, you're going to have to live with it."
