Seriously, there are 7 new threads on the first page of the Canada forum all looking for people to climb with either out of Calgary or in the Bow Valley (Canmore, Banff, Lake Louise). Why start a new thread when there are already a bunch started. Post here, and try contacting people that have already posted rather than posting up and waiting for others to contact you. If everyone does that, no one actually gets gets together for climbs. I have people to climb with right now, but if you need a partner or some one to show you some of the crags then contact me, and if I can`t get out, I can probably point you to some one that can.

Good point! I'll be in the Calgary area second half of August. Got a partner from the 16th-22th or so but after that....? Interested in trad, sport, alpine. Let me know.

Not sure whether consolidation will really help... but I'll play. I'm looking for climbing partners for any of the upcoming Friday-Saturday-Sunday. I'm pretty open minded and happy to climb sport, trad, alpine or even a scramble. I have a Ghost river capable vehicle, gear, and experience. Although definitely not the strongest fella out there (leading 10s) I'm efficient and safe and won't slow you down on approaches. I recently moved to Cowtown, but know the Rockies quite well. Best to email the addy in my profile, or PM through this site.

Please tell a Gunks climber about climbing in this area. I'm planning to come out that way for a wedding the 1st weekend in Oct (wedding is in Field, BC). It's a long way to fly, so I'd like to make a week out of it. Plans not firm, but could arrive as early as 9/29. Is it going to be too cold (50's and sunny is fine) for rock climbing? My preference is for multipitch trad, but would consider anything but bouldering. I can follow up to 5.8, but only lead 5.4. What locations should I look into? What guidebook(s) would you recommmend? I won't be brining a partner, so guide service recommmendations would be helpful. Thanks in advance! Kathy

I have this Tue/Wed. off and looking for a partner for a nice multi-pitch, preferably one of these: Ballista, Tonka, Beautiful Century, True Grit, Raptor, NE face of Ha-Ling, Joy, Escargot Corner. Open to other suggestions of course, just wanna do something full day but not too hard. :)

Saturday: Thinking multipitch trad, 8 - 10a range. Reprobate (EEOR) or Kahl Wall (Yam) or similar. Reply in thread, PM or email (addy in profile).

Hi Everyone I just moved to Calgary from Vancouver Island, and am looking for partner(s). I am a new trad climber (climbed a bit in Squamish, as part of a trad leading and multipitch course) and would love to get out and do some single or multipitch climbs in the area. I have little trad leading experience, so would LOVE to find a competent leader, so I can second, and switching leads on easier pitches. I have lead experience, but mostly from sport climbing. I am a cautious climber, and eager to get more trad climbing under my belt! I would also like to do some scrambling, and some easier alpine climbing too. I have a rope, small rack, etc. and can arrange transportation (I have a 4x4). Please contact me at roberts.sw@gmail.com for further discussion.

Hey, Drop me a line about your availability. I am a safe climber also, with 13 years of multi-pitch trad experience. I'd be happy to show you the ropes... get it? I never said I was funny.... Tom 403-244-4631
