Its a copy of the Edelweiss THE 9 without the lower horn which in turn was a copy of the Cassin Logic with both upper and lower horn added. These things have been around for decades and are still as crap as ever!

The Cassin Logic was included in a test by the OeAV in Berg & Steigen 2/99. The overall verdict was "See it, forget it"! Locks the rope solid, horrible to use and abseiling/ lowering twists the rope like shit. The Logic has been available since pre-95 and there is a reason you donīt see many around!

doesn't look like it... This article mentions the horns and the end point on The Nine being helpful in smoothing the rope-handling. Edit: after watching the vid, as they mention the article, lowering does look like a PITA.... (not that it is any better with a Gri-Gri)

The lower horn has the same function as it did on the Edelweiss except on that the horn was more out to the side. At 44.95 , 138gr and still handling problems you wonīt see many of these about either!
