so im tryin to do some research about opening a new gym and am just trying to get a general idea about how successful some gyms are. Are they just a money pit and people have them because they love climbing or can they really be profitable and worth the risk. also what should every gym have and not have besides the wall itself

Yes.

Edited to add. You should be able to blow more than 500,000 bucks to start, most likely more. Also, be willing to lose money for the first 2 years while you work your ass off. This is assuming you picked a great location that can support your endeavor.

Hey trayboarder, how is it going? I just saw your post in the forum. Normally i read it few times a month and i've never registered a username.
Are you still interested in opening a climbing gym?
I work for company that manufacture an artificial climbing walls and just wanted to offer my help.
If you give me some more information about your ideas and location i could give you some advices.
Have a good day!
