This week we recovered a significant amount of climbing gear from one of our local tweek burglars. It was probably stolen out of the LA/OC area in the last few weeks. We have called several surrounding agencies to locate the owner with no luck. I have not seen all the gear, but have seen photos. From what my partners are describing it could be a big wall rack. I would like reunite the gear with the owner. If you recently had your rack stolen or know someone who has, send me an email so we can work on getting the property back. Eric

Wow, this is a potentially happy ending to an ugly story. Having been on the receiving end of meth addicts, I hope they get a life sentence in front of a firing squad! Hat's off to you guys!

Just wondering... how did you find that the thief had the gear? Did he offer it up to you at a cracked-out discount?

Here's a link to the post I put on here, and it also has a list of the gear that was stolen, so you can compare. http://www.rockclimbing.com/...7;page=unread#unread Thanks, Eric Eric, from viewing a similar post on another site it appears that the gear in question was distinctly marked (a lesson for all of you climbers!) and the rightful owner has most likely been found. I have heard about your egregious loss of goods, and still hope for a just ending to your case. Please keep us informed! I stopped by Redpoint the last time I visited Smith Rock, and found the staff both friendly and helpful. Good luck finding the perp!

The gear has been returned to the owner. It was distinctly marked which helped in the identification. It was also obviously used equipment and not new. Still on the gear racks. Eric

Eric, once again, thank you so much for getting my stuff back and taking that extra step and posting this up. All of it was there! Big lesson that you should mark your gear! Nail polish only cost a buck...

Crack broke into my car. I had a LARGE rack in there with some big wall stuff. He got some electronics too that I didn't get back, but I'm not worried about all that...
