Hi everyone, I'm heading to Phoenix, AZ from Boston, MA on April 22nd for a friend's wedding and plan on getting a day or so of climbing in at Oak Flats (Trad and/or Sport). Could someone recommend the best guidebook? Any other advice or tips are gladly welcomed. -J

HI Im local to the area and can make a couple of recommendations Topos on here and Mountain Project are pretty good THe Pond is a great area to climb - You park after the tunnel and cross the road - The Creek waterfall are running so be aware it may be a little wet... Go up the wroght iron ladder and continue the the west to find great routes like Pocket Puzzle and Dead Pool... Great climbing To get down into the Atlantis area might be a waste of time - it was full of water last few weeks so continue up the road until the Oak Flat Camp turn off and visit Upper Looner Land, Magna Mine and or if you have 4 wheel drive Pancake House The Phoenix Rock Gym on University has all the paper guides created by our very own Marty K and will be a valuable source in locating the coolest climbs! If you need partners - I believe their will be a Meetup Group that weekend for those not attending the Beanfest... Contact me if you have any further questions Shiloh ClimbPHX.com
