Ten Sleep.

Troo although adding Lander is good good good.

d.

In May, you might still be really limited in terms of what you can get to. Most of the climbing in Ten Sleep is not accessible in winter, and winter lasts a long time above 8000 feet.

The Grateful Wall on Ko Yao Noi in Phang Nga Bay from November through April as it's in the shade all day.

Most bolts are titanium glue-ins.

The Mitt Wall on Ko Yao Noi in the morning during the winter and the Bee Wall in the afternoon.

All year-round the park just outside of Phang Nga Town... nicely bolted and in the shade. Belays are on grassy lawns with flowers and pretty girlies all around.

Another vote for shelf road, even if there is snow the camp ground (still only $4/night) is open and the road is plowed. temps will be great, might just be a little cold at night

I can't believe that we're this far into the discussion without someone mentioning the New River Gorge. Sometimes it's hot and humid in May, but still better than most areas in the US in their prime.

Definitely one of my favorite places in the US, but the reason I didn't mention it is because I only trad climb there. There are enough trad routes to where I don't feel like I need to go for the sport routes.

I started climbing in the New back when there were no bolted routes... early 80s-ish... givin' away my age a bit now. Cool

New River Gorge is great too, and you can sneak in a way cool white water rafting trip while you're there.

Yes... Go to Lander! I live 40 miles from Ten Sleep and miss how quiet it used to be.... Sad days.

But I really do like Wild Iris in Lander. If you go in early may you can miss many of the migrants coming up from Colorado.
