There is a music festival at Mulberry Mountain Arkansas June 2-5th, just an hour or two from Horseshoe Canyon Ranch. We are getting a group to hit up the festival and then a few days at HCR. In addition to an amazing lineup, they just announced the electronic late-night lineup at http://www.interstellarmeltdown.com/. Get your crew together and lets go party and climb!!!

In reply to: it is tottally farther than 2hrs. Roads are way windey. If you say so but I can make it from Fort Smith in under 2 hours and that is further away. But then again I do drive like a maniac!! JB

sounds like a party... Wakarusa is a blast. I think I would have a hard time finding the motivation to go climb after a weekend of partying at a fest.

It's at least a 2 and a half hour drive from Mulberry Mountain lodge to Horseshoe. Highway 23 and highway 7 are very curvy roads.

If your not down for the 2.5hr drive. There are a couple of closer options. 1. The closest of the two is Delsoto Boulders (sp?) Never been but heard it has great bouldering and its very close (<30min). You can also check w/ Byrds Adventure Center they have climbing guides that know the area. 2. Fern Gully near Fern, Ar. (<1hr) Very cool place w/ mostly short TR and sport routes. Handfull of bouldering routes if you know where to look.

Fern is a really cool place to climb. Some short short routes and quite a few good bouldering problems. There is supposed to be a new bouldering guide for Arkansas coming out in the future sometime.
