My girlfriend and I are flying into Milan in May and would love to find some people in the surrounding area to climb/ crash with. We boulder and sport climb, love to camp and live simply. Any lovely euros out there?

I'm fairly sure there are a few gyms...
....and I remember being able to see the Dolomites from the airport. (okay, that doesn't mean they are "close", but not that far away either....)

not really......and not that it matters. I'm not the one moving to Milan.

This is true. Maybe the OP doesn't want to just climb in a gym though (or vice-versa).

Take a train to lecco. You can stay in that town for relatively cheap & you can walk to all the sport climbing from town. Beautiful place to clibm as well but not as serious as the dolomites.

Yes!! I am Italian and leaving close to Milano ... we have several nearby choices hereWink

1. go to Lecco as suggested, it is about one hour driving towards north from Milano and it is the Mecca of limestones. You can find hundreds crags and multipitch routes. In Lecco city itself there is Medale which is a 400 mt high vertical wall with many nice routes.

2. go to Domodossola, it is about one hour driving towards west from Milano (all tollway) also in this area you will find several crags all granits, some with nice craks as well and many multi pitches routes..

3 go to Bergamo, it is about one hour driving towards East from Milano ... same as above but limestones.

If you check on google you will find a lot of places to go ...

Good luck ... and just contact me when you will be here and if possible I will come with you Wink

Ciao,
Roby
