Hey I'm looking for some boulders near charlotte nc without haveing to head out towards crowders mt. anybody know of anything that isn't on the routes page

There are no boulders in Charlotte.
Look east, I heard there were some in Wilmington but that's just a rumor.

Poplar Tent is the only bouldering around Charlotte that I am aware of. Unfortunately, it is closed to climbing. You could always go to Inner Peaks or the USNWC.

Dixon School boulders are the only boulders close to Charlotte. If you don't mind driving farther there is Moores Wall near Winston Salem, or Boone.

Also, Rumbling Bald would probably be about as close as Boone or Moore's Wall.

There are a couple hidden boulders in the huntersville area that some other members have been kind enough to show me. Email me at frankjpalmieri@gmail.com and I think I still have directions I can send you. Its not much, only a few boulders and they may need some cleaning and clearing, but there are a few problems to get your weekday fix if you cant make it to Dixon. One is right off exit 23 I believe.
