I'm curious about the booze habits of climbers. how much do you drink? do you feel your alcohol consumption (or lack there of) contributes to your weight and overall fitness?
- in hot / dry Chile, I drank about 7-10 glasses of water beer per week.
- in humid New England, I drank about 1-2 beers per week sometimes over the course of six weeks or so, and then I wouldn't drink anything at all for another six weeks or so. rinse, repeat.
When ever I take one of those 'Are you a dangerous drinker?' questionnaires, it always says I'm a binge drinker, coz I'll have a few glasses of wine over the week then get shitfaced one ever other week.
Personally, I have an alergic reaction to mood changing/mind altering substances...
When I'm under the influence, I break out in handcuffs, fights, and long periods of homelessness.
And, I never could seem to get enough... Even though I've OD'd several times
Like I said, it's 'all or nothing' with me, and 'nothing' seems to work better for me.
But I have on occasion gotten a 'designated drinker', and I make them pay. Seriously... I've dont this twice at RC.com Gatherings in the past, as someone always wants to rise to the occasion.

Like I always say, "You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning." And I've trademarked that phrase so if anyone puts it on a t-shirt I expect some royalties.
the poll results are interesting so far. it seems like RC members drink nothing at all or everything in sight.
I think your poll doesn't have quite enough options. A glass of wine every day with dinner (something by no means indicative of a heavy drinker), will put someone at the top of your scale.

Agreed... My wife drinks a glass of wine about every night.
Would've been better if those numbers were per day, not per week.

There is an option for 5-7 a week.
Last time I checked a week was roughly 5 to 7 days.

I think the scale is correct. Anyone drinking more than a 7 drinks a week is usually drinking more than they could count.
Drinking is usually 0 to 1 per day(with very occasional 3 to 4 in one specific day) or litres of booze/day. <-- this is what it seems like to me.
