Hey guys, just wondering where I could get a cheap pair of decent climbing shoes on the internet for around $40-$60. I really don't want to spend too much on the shoes.

I am not a skilled climber, but I have some experience. I usually hike and climb whenever there is something to climb or go to a gym and rent shoes. I boulder mostly.

I've looked online on Amazon, EMS, etc. and I can't really find anything for that price worth buying (or in the right size).

Thanks in advance.

ebay, spadout, sierratradingpost (STP)

good luck getting a pair that fits properly, though. towards that route, buy multiple sizes/models from STP when they give you a coupon + free shipping (sign up for their dealflyer). Try them all on and keep the pair that fits best ($6 for return shipping, preprinted label). I've bought $120 shoes for $48 from them.

Go try them on at REI or EMS first.

Be warned: Evolv Defy's acquire a truly rancid stank that is difficult to deal with. Something about the synthetic uppers.

Five Ten Coyote, $65 on Amazon.

If you're not "a skilled climber" as you say, and are just looking for a pair of decent climbing shoes for fun then these should do the trick.

I've got a pair of those I've used for 15 minutes of gym bouldering. 5.10 coyote velcros, size 10.5. I'll ship them to you for 50 bucks. PM me if you are interested.

Most climbing stores have discount shoes, last years model, or someone selling their mistake pair.

Always Remember never buy online- when you can buy in person, checking it out, trying on, and bring a competive price, ask them to match it!

gearx.com has a lot of stuff on closeout right now, I remember seeing the Mad Rock Flash (which would probably be great) but I can't remember what sizes they had it in.

There's a zappo's outlet not too far from where I live, I've managed to score some awesome deals there. (Got my velcro Miuras for about $50 brand new!) The only problem is terrible selection, sometimes they've got several pairs and sometimes there are only 2 pairs of climbing shoes in the entire store... It's a tossup
