So after several wekes ov semi large crews.... it wus nice to have a quiet day in teh hole, just C-ya and myself on Sat. Perfect temps, didn't see another soul teh entire day... just teh way I likes it. Kinda reminded me, teh way it used to be and ov awl teh reasons I likes hiding owt in shitholes away from everywon.

On Sun, when had teh jiant crew... and they just kept cumming. Buy noon there were more than 20 climbers awl yacking it up and such. I just put teh head phones in and burned it down, trying to pretend they didn't exist.

Still, I liked eveywon that wus there, I just wish they didn't awl have to show up on teh same day.... and that they didn't awl have to talk so much.

At won poynt teh young strong manboyz wunted to yack me up. They said they have been going to sum ov my older difficult roots in established areas. Said they spent teh entire yesterday trying ********. They each tried it several tymes and said it wus pretty hard and that none ov them cood due it.... and wondered ifs it wus a sandbag.

I meant that when july 4th rolled around, did the average person in the USSR think "hey, today is american independence day", or was it just another day, much as november 7th doesn't really correlate to any sort of important anniversary that i would note?

Oh, now you are all confused. I did come here after college. And i didn't mean to say that 4th of July was a big deal in USSR. Not at all, though people there did know about it, I would say definitely more than people here know about world history in general.

But November 7th was an official holiday, and now it is not a holiday anymore. So it would be like US evolving into a situation where 4th of July is not a holiday anymore. What I was saying is that 25 years ago, I couldn't imagine that November 7th would not be a holiday for Soviets in the future, just like it seems impossible to imagine that 4th of July will stop being an American holiday. Got it now?

I don't know how many people would care if the 4th of July was no longer a holiday as long as they still got that day off sometime in the summer.
