I just returned from a 5 week trip to Costa Rica, awesome!!! Surfed mostly, but I also lugged my rope and rock gear from California to Montezuma waterfall because of Jordan Rice's posts. Be advised, there is one bolted line there (5.7) and nothing else was climbable. This is definitely not a sport crag. All the other routes, presumably only top rope as there were no other bolts on the wall, were completely grown over. A few locals did climb directly up the waterfall to cliff jump from 60+ fee up, which was impressive, but definitely not for most climbers. Pretty disappointing and not worth the effort.

Sorry for you, but Montesuma waterfall aren't the best place to climb in Costa Rica. Is an aswesome place to have fun but no for climb.

I suppose that the guy who bolted that place made it for bussiness and not for love to the sport.

Next time try Cachi at Cartago, Forum at Santa Ana, Pico Blano Escazú or
Providencia.

Cheers
