You know my answer... Long Beach, Ca. Little more than 50-100K people though.

A few towns pop to mind: Logan, UT Pocatello, ID Bozeman, MT Grand Junction, CO St. George, UT Flagstaff, AZ check 'em all out. edited to say that most of these are on the small side, but are close to some spectacular rock. [ This Message was edited by: camhead on 2003-02-14 13:35 ]

Lol with Adam. You forgot to mention that LB has SuperMex and not one but two Trader Joes! Go check out Denver, Boulder, Taos, or Phx

Yeah rrradam, your town has a few too many people for this hillbilly. Plus there are all those punk rockers... can't trust those weirdos... sometimes they bleach their hair! Cool. I've actually been in most of these places! I think Bozeman may be too far north. Logan and Pocatello both seemed quite nice! Flagstaff is great, but my wife didn't dig it so much. Any of you live in any of these towns? Can I get Fat Tire or Dead Guy in Pocatello? (beer is a big decision making factor that i forgot to mention). Boulder and the Front Range are out... too many yuppies and trustafarians and too high cost of living. [ This Message was edited by: jaybee on 2003-02-14 13:49 ]

I like your attitude, bro. I grew up in Logan, lived there for 19 years. Beer is a little tricky due to a certain radicalist apolcalyptic religious sect that has had the area in a deathgrip for the past 150 years. Thye good news is, unlike most any other town in Utah, Logan is only 20 minutes from Idaho, where beer is available in mass quantities. Just stock up. The only thing you'll be missing is a microbrewery. In my opinion, the mountains, rivers, low crime, and of course quality limestone climbing within ten minute's drive outweigh the beer dilemma.

I'd say Flag, AZ. Climbing season is year round in AZ. When it's too cold to climb in Flagstaff itself, there's plenty of warmer areas within 2 1/2 hours for weekend trips, and they've got a nice gym for your after work midweek fix!

Yeah, as I mentioned earlier, I thought flag was nice, but my wife didn't care for it... plus we actually like winter.
