Hey guys, I finally figured this thing out  - boy what a computer wiz i am How’s it going, I’m great (minus the knee),I've been self medicating myself and trying to figure out how to get on the site-thanks for the info cass & anne. I saw an otrtho Dr. yesterday and I have a effusion – what ever the hell that is. I have meds oh yea! And 3 weeks of PT oh no! :? :( and a follow-up visit with gretchen - her dad used to climb Seneca in the sixties , then all should be fine until my next klutz move. …….I had one of the best weaks that I’ve had in a long time! Everyone was great! Thank you Stu for hosting us, Anne for organizing all of us vagabonds to meet in a wonderful place, and everyone else that made the best gathering ever…! Just a few more thanks that I can remember……….Thanks to Pornstarr, Captain Prozac, Beta-Ben, Djmeat, for all of their hard work packing us up and down the mountain OMG the FOOD was so great! From Beta Ben cooking bacon and eggs the first morning & coffee most mornings, to breakfast burritos (Roinin Thorne) salsa, salads & good cheer Brenda –,brats home made sourkrat -Ohio, to burgers (beef & veision) and chicken Wisconsin, Anne’s chili, and who ever else I’m forgetting. Thanks Dave for taking us through Trout cave – and yes the tongue really helps getting through those small traverses! I look forward to meeting up with you in the future for some fun. You are a great guy and it was fun getting to know you and Gretchen. For some reason I keep looking for Pornstarr and the keg????? Anyone else???? Troy I was great meeting you we will definitely have to hook up for some recreation, whether it is climbing or drinking, I don’t think it would matter. Mojo Risin the shower was awesome, I can’t believe you brought it and donated it to NRP…..You ROCK. I hope to climb with you some day. Thanks to Pass the Piton Pete and Jessus for facilitating the cooking of spaghetti with multi pots and stoves – mojo thanks for running down the mountain to get your stove. I’d still be waiting for water to boil without your guys help. PTPP thanks for demonstrating the better way & good luck with your column. Kurt it was nice meeting you. I will tell you when I and in Salt Lake so we can hook up. You can watch me flail on Satans Corner, it will be fun. Cass thanks for the smooooooth irish whiskey – it definitely was a plus. And for documenting my FA of Stu’s Stairs direct. Coach, Raule, & DJ, you guys are great – I hope to see you again and enjoy more of that Texas hospitality and A number 1 Texas beef. Coach and Raule thank you for serving and preserving our freedom and liberty! Tim, I has a good time climbing with you, thanks for tolerating us slackers. I’m glad to hear Eric took you to the summit. Julianne, I hear your first trad lead was candy corner – That is awesome! It is not an easy 5.5, I’m impressed. Traddaddy, DJMeat (thanks for the knee brace), howitzer, Katydid, Beta Ben, Farasnyl10, Vertical Reality, ezjay40, Brenda, Glenn, Brie, Charlie (thanks for dragging my huge box down to Eric’s truck – see you at the Mills when my knee heals), you guys are all good people! Thanks for the wonderful time! I expect to see you all again if not at next years NRP gathering. This was my first gathering and I really needed a week like I had. It was fantastic that everyone had such a good time! We all got a bit more in shape walking up the mountain, enjoyed the alternating mud and ice road, laughed when I snowed and rained, congratulated the folks that got their FAs, the folks that got to lead sport for the first time and those who had their first taste of real rock! This gathering set the standard for all future gatherings – WOW it looks like I know what I’ll be doing the 2nd week of March for the rest of my life! Anne thanks for….well everything, you are amazing! When I get pics I will post them. So far the pics have been great, thanks for sharing them! Everyone is welcome to visit if you are ever in the Pittsburgh area -I'm close to the airport if you have any layovers I'd be happy to entertain you. Hey, I’m planning on going to Utah in the late summer/fall for climbing – anyone up for a trip? well time to self medicate myself I'll write more when my memory comes back.

My old climbing partner transfered to our Salt Lake office a year ago and I was able to visit and was just floored by the closeness and the amount of climbing everywhere. It is so different from the western pa "flat lands" where I'm 40 min to 2 hrs away from the "local" crag. Well I figured that I would like to check out more of the state, so I'm really not sure where I want to go but I know I have a lot of choices. My friend is a good climber but he has a family and will have a 5-month old baby and limited vacation time, so he can't get away as much as he would like and I thought it would be nice to go out with someone. I know Kurt will be getting a visit, he is up for climbing anytime anyplace. As for NRP, Seneca or Shennandoahs I will definately give you a call whenever I want to climb and you do the same. I can get away almost anytime if I can plan - flex hours are great. Looking forward to climbing with you, Dave

Roadtrip? Utah? Oh mememememememe!!!!!!! /me waves hand frantically You can't help but love Utah, Dave. It's one of the most beautiful places on earth, IMNSHO. I'd like to spend some time at Little Cottonwood actually climbing; the only time I've been up there was the night before a friend's wedding, when I learned the hard way about what alcohol does in your system at altitude... But I've DEFINITELY got NRP on my calendar for one week in March, no matter where I'm living at the time! k.

Oh -- all this time I have forgotten to add my favourite quote of the week, which happened in the car after Todd and I left the gathering. To wit: "I don't know how the fuck you short people can climb anything." I'm still laughing when I think of that! Oh, and special props to Todd for knocking himself silly to make sure I got on a bus back to Kitchener on Monday. (Do you want me to mail you your shirt, or should I give it back to you some time when we hook up to climb?) k. PS - my reply to the comment above? "Technique, Todd. It's called technique."
