I have just started Trad. I was wondering do you need a certain shoe? If so what would that be?

you don't need a certian shoe, but some shoes work better in some areas. Try to find a shoe that will work well in crack and you can wear all day. Keith

it depends on your foot shape,but i were 5.10 pinks,the build quailty is crap but they are still the best boots.

yes, climbing shoes. Sorry, that was too easy to resist. :wink: Seriously, anything that fits you well and you can wear for a while. Not a requirement but light colored uppers are a good thing. Your feet can really bake on hot summer days in dark shoes. My current favs are LaSportiva mythos.
