Kate and I won't make it till Friday night. And Anne I've got a line onsome good beer for you!! Breakfast's will be simple, if you don't like eggs and bacon/sausage and oatmeal you'll have to fend for yourself. I might even make French toast on Sunday. Hey Anne, do you have the big coffee pot Coach left or is still on the Mountain? Ben

i'm here.....i will probably be rolling in there sometime late thursday night, we are hoping to hit the road by 5 from cleveland so we should be there by 11 or so. we will probably be camping in the lower parking lot this time instead of up on the mountain.

I think I will most likely be kicking around in the Seneca/NRP area Easter weekend, so I would be interested incoming to the gathering. Depends on who's arm I can twist to come with me. The Via Ferrata rates...does that mean you can't climb anything that you have to access by the Via Ferrata, like 34D wall? What's the deal. Oh and if I can come I will be tentin' it, so no need to worry about a space in one of the cabins. And one last question, who exactly are these 'guides' I saw mentioned in one post? Stu, do you have your own guides or will some of the guys from SRMG be running around? betty

I was just at NRP this weekend, the weather was great and so was the climbing. The road up to the cabins is much better than it was at Oozefest but it is still pretty muddy in spots. stu's corner is still pretty bad. You still need a 4-wheel drive to get to the top. Hope to see everyone there. Ben

Betty, don't worry about finding someone to come with you if you're just looking for a partner -- there will be no shortage! As far as climbing in the areas that require via ferrata access, you do need to pay the VF fee to climb over there (did it this last weekend, as a matter of fact). Hope this clears things up, k.

In reply to: does that mean you can't climb anything that you have to access by the Via Ferrata, like 34D wall? 34D is accessible w/o using the VF (it was fully developed before the VF went in). Any routes listed in the Horst guide, for example, predate the VF and are accessible without using the VF. The "bonus" routes the VF opens up are all new in the past year and are on the east side, east fin - the IMOL wall sport climbs and a number of good moderate trad lines etc.
In reply to: And one last question, who exactly are these 'guides' I saw mentioned in one post? Stu, do you have your own guides or will some of the guys from SRMG be running around? They are our own people and we don't do "guiding" in the classical sense. Consider it a climbing tour, to orient people and help them get a fast start at Nelson. It worked real well at Oozefest, and some people may be interested. If not, no biggie. In any case, Pete's going to be away and I don't know Bryan's schedule so it may be a moot point.

hey everyone, i've been meaning to get my butt to one of these gatherings, so here goes! i & a few others were already planning a trip to seneca. so since we'll be milling around the area, i'd like to drop by. we're still firming our plans, but i had a few ?'s . . . if we show up late friday night, where can we pitch a tent, lower lot? where & when would we meet in the morning to settle up? take a check? i need an intro to the vf, any plans for that? patrick

In reply to: if we show up late friday night, where can we pitch a tent, lower lot? That's fine, but I'd like everybody to move camp up to the "tent city" area on the hill Sat. morning. [motto - "find the intensity in Tent City!"] I can do some shuttling.
In reply to: where & when would we meet in the morning to settle up? take a check? i need an intro to the vf, any plans for that? Sat. morning up around the cabins, we'll settle moneys and do the VF orientation/equip. rentals. Say between 9 and 10 o'clock. Checks are ok, but no credit cards!

Kate can't get online right now, so I'll fill in for the moment. Sounds good Stu, we'll make sure we have a meeting Sat. Morning to take care of all the admin stuff and safety issues. I'll Add Betty and Climberboy to the list. Kate and i should be down late friday night. The weather looks decent for Sat. so far maybe a little rain on Sunday so be prepared to get wet. But we can hang out on the porch at he cabins so we should be fine. Sorry to hear you can't make it Anne, Really was hoping to get the boys hooked up, but there's always next time. Ben

Hi guys, I have to bail this weekend (Ben I responded to your PM). Sorry guys, It turns out that I will be working for part of the weekend. So that means that the weather will be even better than predicted because I will be inside working. See the sacrifices I make for you'all. I hope you all have a good time, see you next time. Dave

Stigonrock and I will be over to climb Saturday, unless the weather flops, like it looks like it is going to. If so, we'll be there the following weekend. I hope all the washed-out RC.Com'ers will do the same. Peace.
