Morning all. Looks like you guys had a good time this weekend. I hope Erik is feeling better today. On a lighter note, the home wall project is well on it's way. Two buddies and I gutted the back corner of my garage to prepare for the woody. There's only one setback. Who ever built it is stupid. They laid a line of cinder blocks, and built the frames for the walls with 2x4's and just set it on the cinderblocks without putting a header on the foundation (if you can call it that). The bottom board and about 2 feet of almost every stud is rotten from the moisture coming up through the holes in the middle of the blocks and from old termite damage, which they knew about and sprayed for them but never fixed the problem. I have to do some major work to fix it so my garage doesn't collapse. I'm just glad I climb. If I didn't I never would have found this out till it was too late.

Morning all! Worked the weekend away. Blah, sorry I missed you guys at Annes - And I'm so sorry to hear about my buddy Erik and so glad he's OK! If he's being sarcastic then he's as good as new ;) Still no word from Iraq. I keep telling myself no news is good news. But frustrating to say the least.... But Mike's parents did send me a gift - a silver bracelet with the USMC emblem engraved on it and it's engraved with the following "Operation Enduring Freedom. Cpl. Michael A. Hastillo" on it. It's gorgeous, and I'm wearing it proudly! Melissa - is it 6 months before Erik can climb again? Woah, that's a doozie. You know I'm a built in partner if you want to go! ;)

Well, the doctor said he needs to wait until he feels up to it...I'm declaring that at least 3-6, because he'll want to climb tomorrow. He's banged up enough I don't want to risk him even falling on toprope. We may come hang out at the crags and learn though...who knows. we'll see what he wants to do. but yeah abi, I think climbing might be good sometime soon, just to get me out of the house.

Hey all! Sorry to give everyone such a scare over the weekend. You guys all came through for me big time though, I couldn't ask for any better friends. Anne, thanks for having us at your place and for taking me to the hospital. Ben, Dave and Kate, thanks for helping me out. You guys are all the reason that I am in as good shape as I'm currently in. I know, Melissa is a trooper. She came through for me big time. But all of you really did. I'm hanging in there. Thank you all SO much for your support and well-wishes. Don't worry, I'll be climbing before 3 months is up if I can help it. :)

Take your time, Erik, take your time. When you have a CAT scan of your brain and they don't find anything  and when you can walk around the block without feeling like you're going to puke, we'll go climbing. Until then, we'll watch the hockey playoffs, cheer for the Flyers, and drink from Lord Stanley's cup when it lands in Philly!

In reply to: sigh. work is something to do to make money. not all that motivated today though I'm never motivated at what I'm doing so I am sending out resumes and looking for other opportunities. I don't have to get rich but if I can'tt get motivated at my job then my day becomes way too long. I also don't like the people I work with.
