While we were climbing the Open Book, we could hear the sound of helicopters. Some other climbers told me that the helicopter landed in Humbert Park and medi-vac an injury. Can anyone confirm this story?

I was wondering what was up as well. From Suicide Rock it looked as though they were trying a one skid touchdown on Lunch Rock with the chopper but bailed and flew someone out from Humber Park later.

Got this from Riverside Mtn Rescue: It was a climber with a broken ankle. Thanks RMRU

I hiked up Tahquitz with the SAR team and supposedly a guy was climbing White Maiden and was about 50 feet out with no pro when he came off. I guess two trees broke his fall but he broke his ankle pretty bad and also had some puncture wounds from the trees (which I guess might have saved his life).
