So in beta I have received from those who have camped/climbed in skaha, i heard about campsites for $5CAD/person. I think their prices went up. a lot. I can not find a campground in the area (penticton) for less than $25!!! anyone have any beta? i'd love to hear that there's some sort of sweet climbers discount that i can get when i get there... but i'm guessing that's not the case...

Waterworld used to be 5$ per person, but I think they bumped up the price for the summer season.... Free camping on the top of the hill. Just don't get caught.... -J out

i could do the free camping thing - but that's normally what screws up our access. argh. $30/night is sooo steep.

If you're mobile there are a couple of government campgrounds a short way away... I seem to recall that these are less expensive, but perhaps check with the tourist info center or Ray's to be sure before driving out to save some time. The shit-hole below the hill is a little cheaper, IIRC... something on the order of $20 per spot I think.

Water world is $5 a night. I think this might only be on the May long weekend and only if you tell them you're a climber. Some kind of climbers special. Their regular prices are a bit more I think. Call them and mention you will be climbing and see what happens.

There's more than a few regional campgrounds between Penticton and Kelowna (40km's, half hour drive). If you don't mind a bit of a drive in, I'm sure some of them would be cheaper. They're all on the lake, and I can think of three, the last time I drove that way. Then there's always stuff in Kelowna, Bear Creek for instance, I can't see that one being too expensive. Mike...
