Holla Holla! (JK) I was just curious (it's 12:19 Utah time! :D ) what "clothes combinations" (crap, this makes me sound gay :( , but I'm not) do you usually wear when climbing??? IE; Tee 7 Pants, Tee & Shorts, Underwear only or even naked??? But you first have to tell everyone where you live. I had only one pair of clean pants to wear (I had to look good for someone out there :D ) but I could not stand to climb in long pants what with the weather here in south-east Utah. So I donned the dirty shorts and my favorite summer item... a tank top, real tight so as to show off my piece O` crap body which I can thank Wendy's for! So thats it for me... Utah, Shorts and a Tank (and a damnbanna when my hair gets too long) If you suck, then dont reply here, although I think Gawd needs a friend right now. I think he is hiding in a bear box.

Hey good question dude. I've not been climbing that long, but I reckon climbers get naked faster than any other group of sportsmen on earth! Seriously! Here in Scotland there's a big thing for going topless but with a beanie hat on :\ which is kind of weird since it's rilly cold here most of the time. As for me I wear baggies and a tank, my only rule is never to wear anything expensive cos it'll only get trashed on the rock when I fall.

in the heat the less clothing the better. i like shorts that are a size too big (comfort reasons mostly) and have a flat front (doesn't bunch up when you put the harness on) no shirt i find it's just one more thing to heat you up and collect sweat, i climb in Southern Ontario and in the summer it gets hot and sticky so the less clothing the better and i think farmers tans look ridiculous..... on the head a bandana or if it's cooler out a toque (here it's important to catch sweat 'cause nothing sucks more than a drop of sweat in the eye at the crux of a climb) oh and if you're climbing with no shirt bring sunscreen..... the sun burns are bad for some many reasons especially related to exercise

I usually wear a pair of capris climbing pants and a tank top. Sometimes I'll go with one of those 'Dry-Fit' biking shirts which keep me really cool. If it's really hot and humid I might go with a pair of light soccer shorts. I find the bike shirt can even keep you cooler than no shirt. It breathes well, keeps the sweat off, and keeps the direct sunlight off the skin. I rarely go with no shirt, probably out of modesty. I live in Ottawa, Ontario, which ranges from extremely cold in winter (-30 Celsius) to extremely hot and humid in summer (mid-30's C with ~100% humidity).

Lycra! Spots bra and lycra shorts. Even when I do alpine I wear them as my bottom layer. Lycra offers freedom of movement and its just pretty darn comfy.

Gramicci shorts all the way! And either a lightweight t-shirt, wife beater, or shirtless, depending on temp and rock-rash potential. Alabama summer: good day--88 degrees and 50% humidity normal day--92 and 80%

I used to wear 'brand names' thanks to Yosemite ponying up money for PRana pants as part of my uniform. But they suck. The pants have fallen apart and have required many fix-it stitches. Most often I wear some serious beater green pants I got free from my ol' job with Nike ACG or some nice, ghetto cut-off Gap Khakis. Since climbing topless isn't allowed, being a girl, I always wear tank tops. Once in a great while, even a bikini top.

A climbing wear windfall occured when my dad asked me if I could use some old shorts of his. He didn't fit them anymore. He sure had some funky colors in there. So cheap/free clothes with as few holes as possible would fit the bill for me. Belaying t-shirts with little holes in front get taken out of regular wear. And yeah, Prana shorts fall apart and cost way too much like maculated said. Two pair of those and that was it. Not suitable for climbing at all.

Finally someone brought this up. The right clothes can make the difference between sending and not sending......as can the right pair of sunglasses, and/or haircut. People, please remember, it's ALL about how you look out there.

and capris, adam. capris!!!! say it!!! um, as is evident from my pictures i favour the same old pair of green cotton pants and whatever tank top smells the least. for chilly days i have a stretchy top from blurr that cost too much but is lightweight and warm. and if i put the hoody on, i look like a speedskater! (weeee) i recently got a pair of pants actually designed for climbing. they're blue sickle "capris" but at my height they're really just above the ankle. stay tuned as my pics will have me in the blue pants or the green pants.

- Tank top and baggy shorts during hot summer days(no underwear :D ) . - Short or long sleeve wicking shirt with Arc'teryx shaka pants in cooler weather. Baseball Cap with the flap backward to help soak up the sweat anf protect the neck for the UV rays...
