I've been trying to spread the news, but YES the PA Climbing Coalition was recently founded. There main goal is to sort out access for areas such as Governor Stables and Safe Harbor that have great rock to offer but are CLOSED.

They're having their 1st ANNUAL CLIMBING COMPETITION at Governor Stables in late March. The comp is open to 175 climbers and from what I hear the climbing there is a boulder's dream. The funds raised will help pay for a lease to have the Stables opens to climbing on a six-month lease basis.

Checkout www.paclimbers.com for more information.

1) Safe Harbor offers almost 100+ sport and trad climbs along the Susquehanna River in Lancaster County, however the rock is owned by the Norfolk and Southern RR company. The rock sits close to the tracks, they dont want climbers tripping the avalanche detachers they have along the tracks there.

Governor Stables is also in Lancaster County, it offer some of PAs best bouldering (similar to Grenta and Haycock)

2) You can read more about these areas and sign up for the COMP at www.paclimers.com

Hi All! The organization is the Pennsylvania Alliance of Climbers. The GS Comp is March 23rd and sign up is available at http://www.paclimbers.com/comp2002. To help support our efforts and for info on the areas we are focusing on currently go to http://www.paclimbers.com. A little redundancy on Randy's post but the link was typed in wrong. These links should get you there. Spread the word and register for the comp!

Hi, Randy. It's me David PAC President. I've been going low key while I figure this forum and e-community stuff out. I figure I'll update my profile and go "public" soon.
Thanks for your support and helping to spread the word.
All - I hope to be pretty active and contribute what I can to the forums - any PA access or area info questions let me know...
