In reply to: Mt. Dew. Strait from the can. About 9 cans a day. No mixing required. I'll give you a reason to quit Dew.... I had this friend in high school whose father was dentist. He said that he could tell with 100% certainty which of his patients were chronic mountain dew drinkers, no matter how good their oral habits were. That stuff REALLY DOES rot your teeth....below the gum line where you can't brush, the FULL TABLESPOON OF SUGAR in each can sits down there, eating away at your chompers. W/out teeth, what are you going to use to hold the rope on a long clip?!? You gonna gum the rope, grandpa?

if its not too hot or i just dont feel like preparing anything, its just water. if its hot, than i make a saline/sugar mix. you know, electrolytes and stuff. i also add some lemon for taste. in winter, warm tea.

water before, during and after, with the after being closely followed by Coopers Dark Ale, there is no substitute.

Coffee in the Morning Then, have strong ice tea with eaqual frozen in Nalgene bottle for before the climb Then, Koolaid, sugar and salt mixture frozen in Nalgene bottle for hydration during the climb And always a Nalgene bottle with water for hydration in between And beer after the climb, back at camp it's preferably a bottle of Spaten In cold weather, I usually have black coffee in a thermos and Nalgene bottle with water.

Water during. 1973 Cask-Strength non-chillfiltered single cask Glen Scotia after. Alas, the bottle's nearly gone, might have to find a new favorite. Almost as much as finding new favorite gear!

gatorade before -- to kill the hangover gatorade and water during -- for "peak" performance -- damn right i think the play on words is funny beer afterwards -- main requirement is cold, plentiful, and non-macrobrew beverages
