dude, dude, you don't have to do this, dirt. see, i understand women. all you gotta do is pick out a 30-ish woman near where you live. i'm sure you know who and where they are in the neighborhood by now, judging from the sound of it all. then pick a day, cloudy and drizzly if you like, and go on over and bust down her door. you tell her you two are going traddin', throw her over your shoulder, and walk right on out. believe me, it works. i've done it lots. women love this. women love being thrown over the shoulder and carried off like a piece of, well, you know what. and don't worry about getting scratched up or anything. she'd be too turned on by your manliness to even remember resisting, you know, just some token struggling to keep up appearances. and and if the guy she'd slept with last night happens to be there, no worries. he'd also be too stunned by your manly display that he'd be too busy wishing he was you rather than get up and kick your ass or any such thing. so yeah, just go on over there and take what you want. it's all about the taking, dude

Hey Curt,
If you want another good laugh, take a look at my version of this post. It was the third post I made to this site and I got five pages of flames and met some cool peeps.
btw. I found my climber/soulmate on the net, she is my age and climbs 12+ sport and solo's 5.8 alpine. (not on this site)

Do you think you would like having a little dirt dumped on you now nad then? ( goota teast dyno guy's theory sooner or later) I can tell you, from the reactions of my guy partners, dirt falling on you is quite exciting, and I mean that in the least sexual way possible LOL. Actually maybe exciting is not quite the right word, I think they woudl say, agitatating , or even aggravating, but then they are stupid guys, so what do they know? That's why I need a female partner, cause women are so much more sensitive than men. I mean, I work hard to get taht dirt down to them, and all they do it bitch bitch bitch. You'd think they wouls show a little appreciation but NOOOOO.

Obviously you've never been to a trailer park picnic with mud wrestling and NASCAR trivia. Some chicks looooove to get mud thrown on them.
Dirt bruffa, I feel ya. Been there, done that. I've got a pretty good balance of guy and girl friends in my life (which rocks), but climbing partners are fairly lacking, male or female. I could see how it would be nice to change the approach and the climate by bringing in another variable. A night out with the boys is one thing, a night out with a good mix of both sexes changes it up and makes it different (not better or worse). Climbing is just as social as any other activity, it needs balance too.
I honestly love to see women come in the gym or out at the crag doing what they want. For pure climbing, it's awesome to watch different physical and mental approaches to problems or routes. For pure social entertainment, sausage fests get old. I always encourage girls I know to climb with me or just to try it out. First because I need someone to belay me and second because not enough women are encouraged to get out there.
But I digress: If I happen to meet some trad climbing 30 something ladies on this site or another, I'll be sure to direct them to your profile;) That is, after I get them to start teaching me trad:) Also, I think your approach was pretty straight forward and more importantly, honest. Stick to your guns, be yourself, do what you love and things will fall in place. Good luck!
That said, I just had a belt buckle made for myself. It says "A-HOLE". I swear, I have never had more girls talk to me out of the blue than after I got that. They just introduce themselves for no reason... I don't care what the reason, but maybe you should get a harness with that stitched in it? I dunno, it works for me...

I agree not enough women climb trad or cloimb at all in the south. Trying to get em out is frustrating. they all think you are hitting on em no matter what.

Yes, we aids climbers are a wierd bunch. But remember, you don't have to be having fun for it to be fun.
Good luck dude with the search. I can vouch for Mr. Dirt, in some PM's we have sent back and forth, he is truely a gentleman and doesn't have an ego at all, except he is definately a trad climber and not a bolt-to-bolt climber. It is kind of hard to meet trad bettys, but dude, try meeting a girl interested in walls. One of my favorite "encounters" was with a girl I met in Josh. She wasn't a climber, but, "liked to watch the hot climbers with their shirts off" of which I was one of them. So that's what attracted her to me, but after a year of hooking up, she said that all I do on my weekends was climb, and she "needed more". Well this is what you get babe! It is truely hard to find a balance with non-climbing girls, especially when you are passionate about something (FA's up dirt chutes for you, or getting faster/better at speed aids climbing for me) that you need to train hard for.
I don't know, maybe you should just take up spurt climbing? I bet those massive legs you have developed from slogging up vegetation choked hillsides straining under a massive pack of cams and pins would just look exquisite (can you think of a better word?!?!) in some nice tight pink lycra!!!
